There was Aristotle who wrote:

Beauty depends on size as well as symmetry.

There is Donald Norman who claims:

Aesthetics matter: attractive things work better.

(Norman, Emotion & Design, 2002)

There are myriads of poets and writers and artists, who all together make one big buzz around beauty. Wanna hear it?

What a B, what a B, what a Beauty

(by Kurt Schwitters, click on the link above to listen to the audio)

And then there’s a story told by Banksy and that’s my favourite yet. A conversation between the artist and a passer-by watching him paint on the Palestinian segregation wall, back in 2005, the text is taken from Wall & Piece:

Old Man: You paint the wall, you make it look beautiful

Me: Thanks

Old Man: We don’t want it to be beautiful, we hate this wall, go home
